United Way Invites Local Nonprofits to Submit Letters of Intent for
Upcoming Funding Cycle
Florence, AL – United Way of Northwest is now accepting Letters of Intent from health and human service agencies for the 2024 - 2025 funding cycle. All nonprofit organizations that have 501(c)(3) status within United Way of Northwest Alabama’s service area of Colbert, Franklin, Lauderdale, and Marion Counties are welcome to submit a Letter of Intent.
Agencies who are interested in applying for funding should include the following information in their letter.

Which of the following Impact Goals will your program address?
- Improve Access to Mental Healthcare

Increase Literacy before 4th Grade
-
Improve Access to Healthcare
-
Improve Mental Health among Children and Youth
-
Improve Financial Skills
-
Increase Access to Transportation
-
Increase Access to Affordable, Low-Income Housing
-
The amount of financing requested (for a one-year period)
-
Provide the number of people in each county (Colbert, Lauderdale, Franklin, Marion) your program serves.

Provide a copy of your IRS determination letter
Funding is open, and encouraged, for all nonprofits serving our 4-county area, regardless of whether they have previously received funding.
Organizations that are invited to submit a full application will be required to attend a mandatory training meeting on a date to be announced at a later date.
The letter of intent is due Friday, January 26, 2024, and can be submitted via email to laura@uwshoals.org or by mailing the letter of intent to 205 W College Street, Florence, AL 35630 Attention: Laura Columbus.
