United Way is providing online tax filing software, accessible through MyFreeTaxes.com, to help taxpayers easily and accurately file their taxes from their computer or smartphone. MyFreeTaxes® is a free way to file simple federal and state tax returns.
The tool screens for credits and deductions such as Earned Income Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit to ensure filers receive their maximum refund and checks for any missed stimulus payments. Users can see in real time how and why their refund amount is changing. MyFreeTaxes can be used on a phone, tablet, or computer, and includes access to a Helpline staffed by IRS-trained specialists from 10 AM-10 PM EST daily.
