On Friday, March 31st, United Way of Northwest Alabama needs 2400 people to give $24 in 24 hours during our first ever Facebook Event. This is in an effort to bring the campaign support up to a level that will help prevent steep cuts to our 22 current partner agencies and 2 internal initiatives.
We have seen firsthand what can happen when many of us come together and give in small amounts and we need your help to ensure United Way is able to continue supporting the vital services that mean so much to our community—from the domestic violence shelter, to the mentoring programs, to the specially trained court advocates and much, much more.
United Way of Northwest Alabama partners* include: The American Red Cross, Arc of the Shoals, Attention Homes of Northwest Alabama, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Shoals, Boys and Girls Clubs of Northwest Alabama, Boy Scouts, Children’s Aid Society, Community Action Agency of Northwest Alabama, Cramer Children’s Center, Easter Seals of Northwest Alabama, Girl Scouts, Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Alabama, The Healing Place, Hospice of the Shoals, NAMI Shoals, Northwest Alabama Reading Aides, Safeplace, The Salvation Army of the Shoals, Shoals CASA, Shoals Community Clinic, Shoals Crisis Center (Rape Response), and YMCA of the Shoals. Our two internal initiatives are 211 Information & Referral and Success by 6. (*Facebook links are included)
Your $24 gift can mean the difference between a senior citizen or disabled person receiving regular nutritious meals or going hungry. It can mean the difference between a homeless person having a warm meal and safe place to lay his head, or sleeping on the street. One in three people are touched each year by a United Way funded program. Will YOU be the one to help ensure they continue to receive the help they need?
Please visit https://www.facebook.com/unitedwaynwalabama/ for more information.
P.S. Yes, you can go ahead and contribute to this effort now and it will count toward the Friday event.
Thank you in advance for your support! We couldn’t do it without you!
