Over the last year, United Way of Northwest Alabama has worked alongside our community to develop and implement a more impactful funding strategy. UWNWAL has always been part of ensuring dollars invested in communities create a lasting change; however, more donors want to see the measurable impact those investments are making on our community.

Over the last 2 years, UWNWAL has been researching best practices, measurement tools, conducting needs assessments, and speaking with our expert leaders in Education, Income Stability, and Health to determine the most effective way to focus our funding. The changes from Allocations to Impact funding have not been made quickly or without a great deal of thought.

The 2023-2024 funding cycle will be the first phase of moving into the impact funding model. Funding is open, and encouraged, for all nonprofits serving our 4-county area, regardless of whether they have previously received funding.

Organizations invited to submit a full application will be required to attend a mandatory training meeting on Monday, February 13 from 12:00 - 1:00.

The letter of intent will be due Friday, February 3, 2023, and can be submitted via email to kerry@uwshoals.org or by mailing the letter of intent to 205 W College Street, Florence, AL 35630 Attention: Kerry Del Pizzo.
